Being a country with a small geographical area Nepal has a huge amount of diversity yet in harmony amongst people throughout the nation. Nepalese people are widely known throughout the world for their brave nature as well as their kindness. Situated in South Asia, Nepal is one of the most unique countries in terms of nature as well as culture.

A small country situated in between giants India and China, it measures approximately 800km. The Himalayan territory has a population of 28.98 million which offers a vast number of natural places to visit and enjoy. Nepal is divided into three main regions; mountains, hills and terai or lowlands.

The Nepalese national flag is unique, consisting of two pennons. The blue colored border of the flag represents peace and harmony and the red or crimson which is Nepal’s national color represents the brave spirits of the Nepalese people. The two pennons themselves symbolize the Himalayan Mountains with the celestial bodies within representing permanence and the hope that Nepal will last as long as the sun and the moon.

The capital city of Nepal is Kathmandu where more than a dozen ancient and world heritage sites are located, thousands of tourists’ flock here every year. Kathmandu in itself is also known as the city of temples. Early on, Nepal was widely known as the Himalayan Kingdom but in the last decade, the changes in the political scenario made the country republic and it has been operating accordingly with the motto of development all around.

Nepal has very different climatic zones ranging from freezing cold mountains to moderate hills to hot terai. Mountains at its north and terai to the south. People and lifestyle seem to change while moving from north to south even within the small distances in between. The way of celebrating festivals also differs from place to place, though harmony is always maintained by people from all religions and backgrounds.

Nepal is a holy place for Hindus with many temples situated here. The country is also sacred to Buddhists as the land where Lord Buddha was born. A country so vibrant with color, religions, and rich in history, with the presence of temples, stupas and many other historical places to visit, the holy land of Nepal has a huge array of captivating places that would blow anyone’s mind.
